Our Examination is produced for You only and We do not undertake to provide witness statements/reports in any civil proceedings.

Fees and Cancellation Charges

You will be required to make payment at the time of booking, either by credit or debit card in advance of the Examination.

You may cancel your Examination in writing at any time within seven working days beginning the day after the date on which you have made a booking, except

Where you cancel within 24 hours of the Examination and in such circumstances, you will not be entitled to any refund

Our staff and contractors will use reasonable skill and care when providing the vehicle Examination service.

We cannot accept liability for defects not reasonably apparent in vehicles which have been subject to abnormal use which is not apparent during our Examination and is not drawn to our attention.

You agree that a lack of defect in any part of the vehicle at the time of the Examination does not constitute a warranty or guarantee of durability in any part of the vehicle, nor is it a guarantee against defects arising in the future.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your Examination or the services provided to you by Intermotion, please bring your complaint to our attention as soon as you can (if possible within 28 days) Complaints should be made in writing to our Customer Relations Department, Intermotion

We reserve the right not to carry out or to continue with a vehicle Examination if anyone behaves in a threatening or abusive way to our staff or contractors, or if the vehicle is situated in an unsafe or unsuitable position.  In these circumstances, you will not be entitled to any refund.

We will not be responsible for any unforeseeable losses, losses that were not caused directly by us or for any business losses. This does not reduce your statutory rights to claim compensation in relation to the services we provide.

We will not be liable for any delay or failure to carry out the Examination service if we are prevented from doing so in circumstances beyond our reasonable control including, without limitation, acts of God; legal restrictions which prevent us attending the vehicle; industrial dispute or severe weather conditions. 

It is your responsibility to notify the vendor of the date and location and obtain any necessary consents. Failure to do so may mean that the Examination cannot be carried out in full or in part on the date booked and we have the right to charge the full fee.

We will carry out a vehicle Examination and provide a Report of our findings to you.  Our inspection consists of a visual, external check on the vehicle you have registered to be examined and does not include a fault diagnosis, or any dismantling or removal of parts. In total we will check up to 161 aspects of the vehicle, depending on the make and model of the vehicle. We will conduct a road test of up to ten miles, which will be carried out within the local speed limits

Due to the visual nature of our Examination, it may not be possible to carry out all checks in all cases. In the event that we are unable to carry out any element of the Examination due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control or because you have not carried out your responsibilities, we will not refund any part of the Examination fee.  Provided that where we have been unable to carry out the entire Examination and we reasonably consider, at our sole discretion, that this was due to no fault on your part, we may offer to carry out the Examination on an alternative date at no additional cost.

We do not analyse, dismantle or remove any part or component or mechanism from the vehicle when carrying out the Examination and therefore we do not accept liability for defects which arise in any part of the vehicle which is not included in our Examination, or not reasonably apparent or capable of identification at the time of Examination, nor for latent defects which are later discovered, nor for defects which arise after the Examination if they were not reasonably detectable at the time the Examination was carried out.

Your Examination does not replace manufacturer or other servicing or maintenance requirements or any legal checks. Your vehicle will not be checked for compliance with Construction and Use Regulations. Your Examination does not include stress or weight tests on any part of your vehicle including, without limit: seat fitting, belt, strap, grab rails, mountings, harness or adaptation, or their security. We do not examine fire extinguishers or their functionality or the contents of first aid kits. 

We are unable to verify the accuracy of the vehicle’s mileometer reading and can merely report the mileage reading.

We will send by first class post, a Report of the findings of the vehicle Examination within Two working days of the Examination.

To carry out the Examination we require, and it is your responsibility to arrange, the following (and you agree that if you fail to arrange for these to be available it may restrict the scope of the Examination and that the full Examination fee will remain payable):

  • The keys to the vehicle
  • Sufficient fuel for the Road Test
  • The vehicle will be located on a hard, level surface off the public highway – if this is not possible, the Examination may be restricted
  • The vehicle must be present at the address of the Examination as provided at the time of the booking and ready for inspection
  • For the best results the use of a hoist or pit. If neither is available we will use a jack.
  • Examination during daylight hours in good weather conditions. Poor weather conditions or visibility may mean the Examination is restricted
  • The vehicle to be in a reasonably clean condition
  • The vehicle to be in a roadworthy and driveable condition
  • A valid MOT Certificate (where applicable) and the vehicle’s DVLA registration documents should also be available for inspection.
  • Any dates discussed with you for the carrying out of the vehicle Examination and production of our Report will be estimated dates only and not a guarantee of such dates.
  • Vehicles should be unladen for the purposes of the Examination.

The agreement to carry out the vehicle Examination and the content of the Report are personal to you and cannot be used, relied upon nor transferred to anyone else without our advance written consent. We accept no liability to any third party. You agree that you will make no representation to the contrary and that you will advise third parties accordingly.

Returns Policy
Any damaged goods may be returned and exchanged for an exact item or another item of equal value. Items must be returned within 7 working days of receipt, with a description of the damage. Please contact Intermotion by email prior to returning goods. When you have contacted us we will provide the returns information. If we do not receive the returned goods within the allotted time of your verified receipt date, no exchange will be given and the order will be returned to you (no exceptions can be made). The item you have returned must be in its original “new” condition in which it was received. If the items are without signs of being blemished, scratched or any other sign of wear we will exchange the item. Intermotion accepts no responsibility for incorrectly fitted items, and recommends that all parts and accessories are professionally fitted. Under the Distance Selling Regulation 2000 you, the consumer, have the right to cancel your order within 7 days. The 7 days begins from the date you receive your order. To be entitled to cancel your order the item must be unused and in a re-saleable condition. The product must be returned to us at your expense. The cost of any loss of product / component of a product during transit is your responsibility .All monies entitled to be refunded will be credited within 28 days once the item(s) has / have been received by ourselves.

Product availability / Stock shortages / Delivery
If all of the item's selected within your order are out of stock and/or can not be obtained within 28 days you will be notified by e-mail and your order will be cancelled. If a ‘SOLD OUT’ sign is in place next to the ordered product your order will be automatically cancelled. If your order comprises multiple items and an item's is/are out of stock the total order value will be amended to account for the missing item's. If we can not deliver the remainder of your order within 28 days a note will be included with your order. If a paid delivery charge has been selected this will still be applicable. Undelivered / Lost Goods - If after 28 days from the date your order was dispatched (this excludes Saturday, Sunday & Bank holidays) your good's are still undelivered please contact us to inform that your good's have not arrived. Please also include reference to your order number and the date that the good's were ordered. If The item you have ordered is in stock we will dispatch it within 1 working day (Monday-Friday/ excluding bank holidays) of payment clearing.
